Interview: Eevee-chan

Hi! :3 Thanks for letting me interview you. So.... what gave you the idea for your site?

Hi :3 Whooh. That was 4 years ago, so I don't remember very well, but I think I started out wanting to create a site for jokes and images. But after that, I got into Pokemon, so it slowly evolved into Pokemon images, and eventually a fansite.

Cool. :3

Oh, and I really liked Mew's Hangout back then, but they got really rude towards me and that made want to get better than them. XD

Okay. Question 2... Who is your biggest inspiration?

o.o;; Hmm... probably Xantan's Nest, PokéVista, and my increasing fascination in the web.

Any particular webmasters?

Definitely Xantan. Without him, I'd probably have quit. :dork: And Danyal (Project 17/TPPARPG), who taught me PHP.

Speaking of scripting, from where or who did you learn HTML?

When I first started, I downloaded and used a lot of free layouts, so along with Xantan's help, I taught myself. Took me three freakin' years to get it down, though. XDD

What about CSS? SSI?

CSS and SSI both kind of came along with HTML. Xantan set me up with a layout, styleswitcher and SSI, so that prompted pretty much all of it.

It seems like Xantan was a pretty big influence. But is there anyone else you look up to online? You know, go to for advice? An idol? XD

Lool! xD Sorry about that. I didn't have many idols, and in fact, I was separated from the whole Pokemon community for my first three years. After that, Butterfree (TCoD) was pretty influencial.

Your art is pretty effin awesome. Did you teach yourself that as well?

<33 Thanks! And yeah, I did. I guess just seeing art over a long period of time gave me an idea of how things worked. And Kronakitty gave me a lot of tips, too.

Your welcome. ^__^ Kronakitty is the webmistress of your sister site, Eonlight Valley, right?

Yeppers!

How did that happen?

Hmmm... lesse... I really loved her art and layouts, and EV was a really good website, so I asked if we could partner up, and she thought it was a good idea.

What does she think of your site? XD

Bajeez, I have no idea! XD We're really good friends and we compete with each other a lot, which makes it all really fun. So... I dunno! I suppose she approves of EHQ enough not to un-partner with us.

Cool. =D Do you have a favorite website?

Hmmm.... I visit Eonlight Valley, Nightmare Valley, and The Cave of Dragonflies a lot, but whenever I surf, I usually check on all my friends and affiliates.

Not to toot my own horn, but how do you like my site?

I've been watching AobaruNet for a long time now, and you've gone really, really far. You have some really nice content! ;D And you have a couple really good guides that not many other people have.

Yeah, Transparency comes in handy ;)

Indeed.

What are you like in real life? XD </stalker>

Whewt :0 I'm definitely quirky.

Any pets?

o__o You don't know the half of it. Our family has: Five chickens, seven cats, one dog, twenty-three fish, and one beta. >D And I own five of the cats. In fact, they live in my room. Shall I provide a picture?

Erm... yes? Do you have one?

Yeah. I love my babies!

And what's a beta? o.o;;

A beta fish. It's a pretty siamese fish.

And your cats?

Three of them are two weeks old.

AWWWW!!! <33

<33

:3 Last question... Did you ever expect your site to be as popular as it is now?

Omgeez, no. I remember when I was astonished when I had 6 unique visitors per day.

Wow. And finally, is there anything in EHQ's future you'd like to give us a peek into?

EVERYTHING'S new. Let's see, what can I say...

O_O

Well, we'll have a "Societies" function for members to create guilds of sorts. There'll be a gallery for uploading pictures and fan content... A bank... And finally, if there ever IS a v4, it'll contain an RPG. Maybe even... sooner than that. ;)

Any peeks at the layout? O_O

Hmm... The background image and color scheme, and the layout is named "Rainbow Sunshine".

Can't... wait... Lastly, is there anything you'd like to say to your fans?

SHOUT-OUT! xD Hmmm, well.. Thanks so much for visiting and supporting us while we're working, and when v3 comes out, the wait will be worth it!

Anything you'd like to say to a new webmaster who wants to be as successful as you?

Well, don't be afraid to ask other people for help, but don't be annoying about it. Asking the webmasters of very popular websites for things might get you a layout if you offer them something in return, but it's better to get help from somebody who's not so busy it'll take them three weeks to get to your email. DON'T give up (too many people do), stick with your website (don't rename it, just keep chugging), think about original, never-before-done content and pave your own path. :D

Well, thanks for the great interview! :3

No problem. Thanks for making me feel speshul! :3
